How to make a simple medieval dress

Image
Came across this tutorial while looking for patterns for possible costumes: http://www.livinghistory.co.uk/homepages/medievaldress/Page_1x.html This dress is based on simple shapes and uses remarkably little fabric. Most people can get the size they need out of 3m of a standard 60" wide fabric. Image
Here it is, modeled (of course) by Nicky himself, my very first Poo-pocket™ , complete with contour doubler : They aren't very hard to make, but with all the distractions and things to do in a day, it took me a whole three days just to get these two done (when it should have taken, maybe 2 hours max?). They were also the first, and I made some adjustments, so I was thinking about how to do that as well, so the next ones should take less time, hopefully. I have what, oh 19 more to do to get a whole good set? (He's growing out of the ones I currently have.)
