101 reasons to be happy - Reason number forty-two

Wise words


The following came in an e-mail:
  
1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel"  that you pull out when in trouble; it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life. 
  
2] Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large and the rear view mirror is so small?  Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE.  So, look ahead and move on. 
  
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write. 
  
4] All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either. 
  
5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold! 
  
6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end! 
  
7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

Banana Bread (healthier version)

(Or substitute other fruit for bananas as well, I have tried strawberries and pears and those are really good too.)


1/3 cup butter (or 1/3 cup apple sauce if you are cutting fat)
1/2 cup natural sugarcane sugar (or stevia or other natural sweetener)
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour  (or other whole grain flour)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup old bananas
1/2 cup bittersweet or dark chocolate chips

Grease small bread pan.  Beat butter, sugar and eggs in small bowl.  Mix flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in large bowl.  Mash old bananas in small bowl.  Add bananas and sugar mixture with dry ingredients.  Add chocolate chips.  Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
