Christmas Highlights

The table - and my christmas log, which I actually managed to
make look presentable!!
The ones that made it all happen, (my sister and I) with the
ones that made us want to scream... (we were a bit tired after
making 15 pies, one cake, turkey, stuffing and trimming, roast
beef... etc, etc...)  Note to self, DO NOT let Marc prepare the
contents for chicken pot pie the evening before Christmas Eve
ever again...  (Also, I really am going to have to try to bake as
much as possible AHEAD of time...  We were almost too
exhausted to enjoy anything!!
The Christmas log, which was made for reveillon (Christmas
Eve dinner) but which, on Christmas evening, has yet to be
touched.  Noone's been hungry enough to eat it yet.

    Your brunch looks amazing! We stick to ham,pineapple and cheese melts and a late supper. The big kids always manage to be invited to their friends' for an Indian lunch - and the presents always take until evening to finish- then wrap up with a birthday celebration for Elizabeth! Hugs to all!

    We normally do pancakes, quiche, eggs, hashbrowns, stuff like that. But Rose Anne wanted to do the Camembert for Réveillon last night, but then we had so much other stuff (baking) that we decided to do it with the brunch. It was really good.

Il y a peut-être un an de cela, une amie m'a dit qu'elle avait entendu dire certains gens traiter Marie-Jeunesse de secte. Mon mari ne connait pas Marie-Jeunesse, mais il est convaincu qu'Opus Dei est un secte et le livre "Le code DaVinci" n'a fait, bien sur, qu'affirmer ses croyances. Pourquoi est-ce que quand un groupe suit le Vatican et ses enseignements et encourage les autres à le faire aussi, même des personnes à l'intérieur de l'Église le traitent de secte?! La suite logique à cela serait de dire que le Vatican lui-même est un secte! Alors ces gens-là pensent quoi? Qu'ils ont la vérité et que c'est le Vatican qui en a dévié? Qu'ils sont les vrais catholiques, alors que le Vatican n'a pas de bons sens? Il y a presque 15 ans j'ai fait partie de Marie-Jeunesse, avant que ce groupe ne devienne communauté religieuse. I don't get this

I'm on a mailing list that sends articles and commentaries from a conservative viewpoint. I have no idea how I got on it, becasue I did not sign up. Did someone else give him my e-mail address? Did I inadvertantly sign up just because I signed some petition or completed some survey somewhere? Who knows. I almost unsubscribed. But then I decided against it, because, well there are interesting articles in there, and because it's refreshing to have a non-liberal viewpoint for a change.
